Fisheries Rules (Validation) Act 1997 An Act to validate certain rules made under the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 [Royal Assent 2 September 1997] Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows: 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Fisheries Rules (Validation) Act 1997 . 2. Commencement This Act commences on the day after the day on which it receives the Royal Assent. 3. Validation of Fisheries Rules The Fisheries Rules 1996 purportedly made under the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 are taken to be validly made and are valid as if they had been declared to constitute an interim management plan under section 45 of that Act with effect from 31 May 1996. 4. Administration of Act Until provision is made in relation to this Act by order under section 4 of the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990 – (a) the administration of this Act is assigned to the Minister for Primary Industry and Fisheries; and (b) the Department responsible to the Minister for Primary Industry and Fisheries in relation to the administration of this Act is the Department of Primary Industry and Fisheries.
