Contents 1 Short title 2 Definition of death Legislative history The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows: 1—Short title This Act may be cited as the Death (Definition) Act 1983. 2—Definition of death For the purposes of the law of this State, a person has died when there has occurred— (a) irreversible cessation of all function of the brain of the person; or (b) irreversible cessation of circulation of blood in the body of the person.
