An Act to vest in the Roman Catholic Archbishop of George V.
          ST. PATRICK'S COLLEGE
(MANLY) ACT.
An Act to vest in the Roman Catholic Archbishop of George V.
Sydney for the time being: and his successors
certain lands at Manly, granted upon trust for
the erection thereon of an Episcopal residence
for the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sydney
for the time being, and of such buildings (if
any) for educational purposes as the Roinan
Catholic Archbishop of Sydney for the time
being should authorize and permit to be
erected thereon; and to authorise the said
Archbishop to lease, and otherwise deal with, a
certain portion of such lands ; and for purposes
consequent thereon and incidental thereto.

TJHEREAS by Crown grant, dated the fourth day preamble.
of April, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-nine, certain lands at Manly, having an area of
sixty acres or thereabouts, were granted to the Most
Reverend Roger Bede Vaughan, the Honourable
Edward Butler, and Eyre Goulburn Ellis, upon trust
for the erection thereon of an episcopal residence for the
Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sydney for the time
being, and of such buildings (if any) for educational
purposes as the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sydney
for the time being should authorise and permit to
be erected thereon: And whiereas by memorandum of
transfer dated the thirty-first day of May, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-nine, a portion of the said
lands fronting Little Cabbage Tree bay, and containing
eight acres and twenty-scven perches, was surrendered

George V. to IIcr Majesty the Queen. and in licu thereof certain
other Jands adjoining, and containing twenty-two acres
and three roods, were by Crown grant dated the twenty-
ninth day of November, one thousand cight hundred
and ninety-nine, granted to Patrick Francis Cardinal
Moran (now deceased), the Roman Catholic Archbishop
of Sydney for the time being: And whereas by cer-
tificate of title dated the twenty-first day of Junc, one
thousand nine hundred and one, and registered volume
one thousand three hundred and sixty, folio two, the
said Patrick Francis Cardinal Moran was declared to
he the owner of an estate in fee-simple in fifty acres
two roods and twenty-six perches of land, being the
residue of the land comprised in the said recited grant
of sixty acres, dated the fourth day of April, one
thousand cight hundred and seventy-nine, after the
surrender hereinbefore recited, upon the trusts above-
declared coneernine the same: na whereas the said
Patrick Francis Cardinal Moran subsequently acquired
by purchase the land containing three roods and eleven
perches comprised in Crown grant dated the twenty-
third day of August, one thousand nine hundred and
four, and registered volume one thousand five hundred
and fifty-cight, folio one hundred and forty-two, which
said land is used in connection with the said Saint
Patrick's College, Manly: And whereas the whole of
the said three parcels of twenty-two acres and three
roods, fifty acres three roods and twenty-six perches,
and three roods and eleven perches comprise the land
described in the First Schedule to this Act: And
whereas there has been erected upon a portion of the
said land an episcopal residence for the Roman Catholie¢
Archbishop of Sydney for the time being, and there have
also been erected upon another part thereof buildings for
educational purposes known as Saint Patrick's College,
Manly, in accordance with the trusts declared concern-
ing the same: And whereas it is expedient that the
whole of the said lands described in the First Schedule
to this Act should be vested in the Roman Catholic
Archbishop of Sydney and his successors for the time
being upon the trusts hereinbefore declared, and that
authority be given to such Archbishop and his successors
to lease such portion of the said lands as is described in
the
Saint Patrick's College (M anly) Act. 3
the Second Schedule to this Act, and that the rentals George Vs
reecivable from such leases be applied to the upkeep
and maintenance of the buildings now or herealter to be
erceted on any part of the lands comprised in the Virst
Schedule to this Act, and to the payinent of rates, taxes,
and other outgoings in relation thereto: Be it therefore
enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and
with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council
and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Par-
liament assembled, and by the authority of the same
as follows :—
1, This Act may be cited as the
College (Manly) Act, 1914."
2. 'The lands described in the First Schedule to this vesting of
Act are hereby vested in the Roman Catholic : Avchhishop ee
of Sydney and his successors for the time being to be the First
held subject to this Act upon the trusts hereinbefore
recited.
3. The said Archbishop and his suecessors for the
time being may— wal in
(a) lease all or any portion of the lands described the Second
in the Second Schedule hereto for such term, "bets:
at such rent, and subject to such conditions as
he or they may think fit, and apply any rents
so reeeived towards the upkeep and main-
tenance of the buildings now erected on the
lands deseribed in the First Schedule hereto,
and to the payment of rates, taxes, and other
outgoings in relation thereto as well as for the
purposes declared in the trust hereinbefore
recited ;
(b) accept surrenders of such leases upon such
terms and subject to such conditions as he or
they may think fit;
(ce) subdivide such lands, form and dedicate streets
thereon, and otherwise comply with any
requirements made by or under the Loeal
Government Act, 1906, or any Act amending
the same ;
(d) grant easements and rights of way over and
in connection with such lands.

volume 1,558, folio 142, and "certificate of title, volume 1,360,
folio 2, Commencing at a point being the south-eastern corner of
R. Cheer's 100-acre grant, and bLounded thence on the north-
west by part of that grant, being a line bearing 20 degrees
