Preamble.
1890. ]
ILTEREAS the land deseribed in the First Schedule to this A
ct
now forms part of the Municipality of Tunter's Till. And
whereas the Municipalities of Ryde and of Ifunter's ITill and t
ratepayers within the area described in the said First Schedule have
agreed that the said area shall be severed from the Municipality of
Hunter' s Hill, and added to, annexed, or ineluded within the boundarie
of the Municipality of Ryde. And whereas the land described in t
Second Schedule hereto now forms part of the Municipality of Ryc
And whereas the Municipalities of HWunter's Ifill and Ryde, and t
ratepayers within the area described in the said Second Schedule have
agreed that the said area shall be severed from the Municipality

Ryde and added to, annexed, or included within the boundaries of t
Municipality of ILunter's Ifill. And whereas it is for the interests
the said Municipalities and also of the said ratepayers that such are

Municipalities of Tyde and TTunter's ITill,
should be severed, annexed, and added respectively as aforesaid, and
that the powers and liabilities set forth should be granted, conferred,
and imposed. Be it therefore cnacted by the Queen's Most Excellent
Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative
Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament
assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—
1. From and after the passing of this Act, the area of land
described in the First Schedule of this Act, shall be severed from the
Municipality of Ilunter's Ifill, and annexed, included, and added to,
and form part of the Municipality of Ryde, as fully and effectually as
if the said area had originally formed part of the said Municipality of
Ryde.
2. From and after the passing of this Act, the area of land
described in the Second Schedule of this Act, shall be severed from
the Municipality of Ryde, and annexed, included, and added to, and
form part of the Municipality of Tfunter's TH, as fully and effectually
as if the said area had originally formed part of the said Municipality
of Hunter's Hill.
3. All acts, matters, and things done for or on behalf of the
Municipality of lLunter's TIill before the passing of this Act, in respect
of the valuing, assessing, and rating of the ratable property within the
said area described in the First Schedule hereto, for the municipal
year of one thousand cight hundred and eighty-nine, shall have the
same force and operation as if the same had been done by, for, ov on
behalf of the Municipality of Ryde, in respect of land within the
boundaries of the Municipality of Ryde and all rates and taxes which
may before the passing of this Act have been imposed by the Munici-
pality of ITunter's Hill upon any ratable property within the said
area described in the said Iirst Schedule hereto, for the said municipal
year one thousand eight hundered and eighty-nine, may be recovered,
and payment ther eof enforced by and on behalf of and to the Munici-
pality of Ryde, in the same manner and as fully as if such rates and
taxes had been imposed by the Municipality of Ryde in respect of
ratable property within the Municipality of Ryde. Provided that if
hefore the passing of this Act, such rates and taxes or any portion
thereof shall have been paid to the Municipal Council of Hunter's Hill,
the amounts so paid shall be forthwith paid to the Municipal Council
of Ryde, to be adjusted to the satisfaction of the Colonial Seerctary.
4. All acts, matters, and things done for or on behalf of 'the
Municipality of Ryde before the passing of this Act, in respect of}
the valuing, assessing, and rating of the ratable property within the
said area described in the Second Schedule hercto, for the municipal
year of one thousand cight hundred and eighty-nine, shall have the
same foree and operation as if the same had been done by, for, or on
behalf of the Municipality of ILunter's Hill, in respect of land within
the boundaries of the Municipality of Tfunter's Hill; and all rates
and taxes which may before the passing of this Act have been
imposed by the Municipality of Ryde upon any ratable property
within the said areca deseribed in the said Second Schedule hereto,
for the said municipal year one thousand eight hundred and cighty-
nine, may be recovered, and payment thereof enforeed by and on.
behalf of and to the Municipality of Hunter's Hill, in 'the same
manner and as fully as if such rates and taxes had been imposed by
the Municipality of ILunter's Hill in respect of ratable property
within the Municipality of Iunter's Will. Provided that if before
the passing of this Act such rates and taxes or any portion thercof
shall have been paid to the Municipal Council of Ryde, the amounts
so paid shall be forthwith paid to the Municipal Council of Hunter's
TLill, to be adjusted to the satisfaction of the Colonial Secretary.

5. Nothing herein contained shall affect any acts done, or
rights and liabilities. piohts or liabilities accrued, incurred, or imposed by or against the

Short tit'e.
Municipality of Ryde, or any person or persons, in respect of any
act, matter, or thing done or commenced to be done before the
passing of this Act; and all rates and taxes imposed or payable in
respect of the vatable property within the area described in the
Second Schedule, for the municipal year one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-nine and previous years, may he recovered and payment
thereof enforced by or on behalf of the said Municipality of Ryde,
as fully and in the same manner as if this Act had not been passed.
G. Nothing herein contained shall affect any acts done, or
rights or liabilities accrued, incurred, or imposed by or against the
Municipality of ILunter's Hill, or any person or persons, in respect
of any act, matter, or thing done or commenced to be done before
the passing of this Act; and all rates and taxes imposed or payable
in respect of the ratable property within the area described in the
First Schedule, for the municipal year one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-nine and previous years, may be recovered and payment
thereof enforced by or on behalf of the said Municipality of Iunter's
Tiill, as fully and in the same manner as if this Act had not been
passed.
7. This Act may be cited as the ' Municipalities of Ryde and
Hunter's Till Act of 1890."
FIRST SCITEDULE.
Land, part of Tunter's Hill, to be added to the Municipality of Ryde.
All that picee or parcel of land situate in the county of Cumberland and parish
of Hunter's TMill, containing about one hundred and thirteen acres: Commencing on the
south-western boundary of the Borough of Hunter's Hill, as gazetted seventh January,
one thousand eight hundred and sixty-one, being a line along the centre of the Great
Northern Road at its intersection with the south-w esterly prolongation of a line along
the centre of Bridge-street ; and thenee by the boundary of the Borough of Iunter's
Hill aforesaid, north-westerly, north. easterly, south-easterly, again north- easter' ly, again
south- westerly, south-wi esterly and again south-easterly to the centre of Bridye- streot
aforesaid ; thence by a line along the centre of that strect, and its prolongation south-
westerly to the point of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
Land, part of Ryde, to be added to Municipality of Hunter's Ill.
All that piece or parcel of land situate in the county of Cumberland, parish of
Hunter's Hill, containing about two hundred and seventy-four acres : Commencing on
the boundary 'div iding the Borough of Hunter's Hill from the Municipal District of
Ryde at the centre of. Bridge-street ; thence by part of that boundary easterly to Lane
Cove River; thence by that river upwards to Buffalo Creek ; thence by that creek up-
wards to the centre of the main road to Pittwater; thence by a line along the centre of
that Road, and a line along the centre of Bridge- strect south- easterly and 'south-w esterly
to the point of commencement.
