The whole of this Act The later of: 1 January 2023 (a) 1 January 2023; and (paragraph (a) applies) (b) the day after this Act receives the Royal Assent. Note: This table relates only to the provisions of this Act as originally enacted. It will not be amended to deal with any later amendments of this Act. (2) Any information in column 3 of the table is not part of this Act. Information may be inserted in this column, or information in it may be edited, in any published version of this Act. 3 Schedules Legislation that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms. Schedule 1—Amendments to increase rate of certain pensions Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986 1 Subsection 24(4) Omit "$919.40", substitute "$1,595.66". 2 Application of amendment The amendment made by this Schedule applies in relation to working out, in respect of days occurring on or after 1 January 2023: (a) the rate at which pension is payable under subsection 24(4) of the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986; or (b) the rate of any other pension, or the amount of any other payment, that is worked out by reference to that subsection under a law of the Commonwealth.
